ABOUT THE AUTHOR'S WORK

"If I had to describe Živilė Rudzikaitė's work in one word, it would be PEACE. Peace not in the sense of everything being quiet, but peace as assurance, as complete trust in one's inner voice, coming from a strong relationship with oneself and one's surroundings. This is evidenced by bold, uniform patches of color, clear, firm contours of the drawing, and very sparing, moderate use of details. There are only a few of them here, but each one is important and meaningful. The author herself says that she does not want to limit herself to one style or theme. Each cycle of her work is like a rebirth, searching for new angles and new ways to express her inner experiences. Nevertheless, you will quickly notice that the most common themes in her work are nature, its natural transformations, and man's relationship with it. The artist herself lives surrounded by nature, so she does not have to look far for inspiration. In the constant cycle of nature, she discovers a wide variety of moods and experiences. The strength of the author's paintings lies in their universality. They capture states and transformations that remain unchanged over the centuries and are recognizable to everyone. Here, natural landscapes become landscapes of the soul, which the eye can wander over tirelessly, constantly searching for new interpretations."
